Job Description:
Sowena group have been retained by a market leading PE backed FMCG group in their search for a new Finance Business partner based in the Merseyside area. This role offers huge scope for progression, exposure to operating alongside the senior leadership team across the business and PE investors, whilst having direct involvement in a potential sale in the next 12-24months. Working underneath an exceptional CFO, this will be a very hands on and analytical role across all areas of the business, partnering cross-functionally with key departments and in time taking the lead on forecasting.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in a newly created role designed to strengthen the commercial arm of the finance team.
- Play a key role in supporting a future PE exit, including financial modelling, investor reporting and deal preparation analysis.
- Report directly to CFO and work alongside the existing team which is controllership focused.
- Core focus is business partnering and performance rather than reporting / controlling.
- Involvement in budgeting, forecasting and analysis across the business to help inform decisions, drive performance, improve margin and drive disciplined cost control.
- Support the CFO with board pack preparation, KPI dashboards and strategic planning cycles.
- You will partner cross-functionally with stakeholders in key departments including Manufacturing, Logistics, Stock, Supply Chain and Marketing.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and a partnering mindset.
- Must have the character to be able to challenge.
- Operational exposure (e.g. supply chain, stock, marketing or logistics) in a fast paced environment.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting and business analysis.
- Experience working in a stock/ product led business with understanding of the financial side of stock reporting.
- Solid Excel skills; confident dealing with large and sometimes messy datasets.
- Sage 200 experience or similar system experience is strongly preferred.

- Salary Range: £45,000 – £55,000
