Financial Accountant

Sowena Group are partnered with a Manchester-based financial services firm, seeking a recently qualified ACA looking to make their first move from practice into industry. This is an excellent opportunity to join an industry leading business, and gain broad exposure across financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and business partnering within a regulated environment.

You will work closely with the CFO, develop strong technical and commercial skills, and play a key role in supporting the finance function as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements under IFRS/UK GAAP
• Supporting the production of statutory accounts and managing the year-end audit process
• Assisting with regulatory reporting and ensuring adherence to financial controls
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
• Providing financial analysis and insight to operational stakeholders
• Contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assisting with ad hoc projects and management reporting

About You

• ACA qualified, ideally trained in practice
• Exposure to financial services clients is beneficial but not essential
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams
• Proactive, organised, and keen to develop in a fast-paced environment
