Job Description

A well-established and growing SME in the technology sector is looking to appoint a commercially aware and hands-on Financial Controller. This is a high-profile role within the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing financial operations, driving business performance, and leading a small but capable team across two locations. The business operates Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and has strong ambitions for growth and innovation across its service offering.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Finance & Supply Chain Team across two UK sites
  • Produce and review accurate monthly management accounts
  • Present monthly financial packs and strategic insight to the senior leadership team
  • Support and lead annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes
  • Maintain and monitor cash flow forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Drive ongoing process improvement across finance and supply chain functions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support wider business objectives and financial performance
  • Provide financial leadership to support departmental budget holders
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and lead the year-end audit process
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage external relationships including auditors, banks, and key suppliers



Qualifications/Skills

Essential:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Proven experience in an SME environment managing the full finance function
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on approach
  • Excellent Excel and accounting systems skills
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams effectively
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and deadline management abilities

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Experience in a technology or managed services environment

Other requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle (occasional inter-site travel required)
  • No DBS check required
