Job Description

A dynamic and fast-growing manufacturer and distributor of technical products is seeking a commercially astute Head of Commercial Finance (FP&A) to join the senior leadership team. This newly created position reflects the business’s strong growth trajectory and desire to become more insight-led and strategically agile across its commercial functions.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Head of Commercial Finance will be responsible for leading the FP&A function, embedding best-in-class planning, forecasting, and business partnering capabilities. You will play a critical role in shaping commercial strategy, supporting product, pricing, and sales decisions, and providing analytical leadership across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to provide data-driven insight and challenge
  • Develop and deliver regular commercial performance reporting, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Analyse product profitability, customer margins, and pricing strategies
  • Support investment decisions and ROI analysis for strategic initiatives
  • Drive improvements in data quality, financial modelling, and business intelligence tools
  • Present insights and recommendations to the CFO and wider leadership team
  • Mentor and develop a small team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement


Qualifications/Skills

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) with strong post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrable success in a senior commercial finance / FP&A role, ideally within manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution
  • Highly analytical with excellent Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong business partnering skills and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Commercially savvy with a track record of driving margin, growth, and strategic outcomes
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact
